We are the faculty and students of Academic English Studies, a small intensive academic English program at Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon, USA. Our hope is to share our experiences and expertise as learners and teachers of language to engage others to share theirs with us. Our posts are intended to begin conversations with our readers. Academic English Studies (AES) is an intensive English language program whose mission is to serve non-native English speakers who wish to develop academic and/or professional English skills for university preparation and career advancement.
AES has provided academic English instruction and support since 1972 as part of Lewis & Clark, a small liberal arts institution of higher education with a social conscience and global outreach.
